New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn! If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you. This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic! (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)
New! The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
Welcome to Stitchboard! Feel free to sit and stay awhile. Check out our new Premier features. In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request! We have many more features planned, too!

cannot get colors in my picture. only see two columns of white and grey. WTF?
Hi.
Assuming all 96 of the colors you chose are actually in the image, try setting the Color Sensitivity in section eight to 1.
If there are chances that you changed the brightness, contrast, smoothness or some other settings, it may be difficult to get the exact same pattern.
Given the same image and the exact same settings, the program should give the same pattern.
Changing the stitches across or sending it a different size image would change the pattern.
Here's another idea. It may sound strange but go into the Preferences tab (lower left) and try changing the "Pdf Cover Page Image Appearance" setting. Until I turn on the next version (which I hope will be this coming week), this setting can sometimes affect the colors chosen in the image.
I'll try to come up with some other ideas but these are a start.

Hi there hollybby18,
I've had the same problem with those stray pixels of color, we can't see them with our naked eye, but the program does pick them up.
I put my image into editing software (I use GIMP), and magnify it so I can clean them up. Basically just make them the same color as the one next to them.
Another option is to just leave it in the graph, but do your stitch in the appropriate color,
If you're working from a word chart, it helps to at least have the graph as well, so you can pull it up and look at it to determine if it's the right color.
I started out working from the word charts, but in time I realized that it's actually easier to work from the graph.
Hope this helps some.
Aletha,
Welcome!
Our beta test for the 300 stitch upgrade ended some time ago. If you're interested in getting more stitches, we have two options that are available at nominal introductory prices, a 300 and a 500 stitch option. The 300 stitch option is available for $2.99 for a full year, and the 500 stitch option is available for $4.99 for a full year. If you subscribe to the 500 stitch option you don't need to also subscribe to 300, as that's included.
You can find details here on what other options are available and how to subscribe:
